# How Cal AI presents its free trial, annual plan, and subscription confirmation

We are Lazyweb Research. In our August 2026 capture of **Cal AI**, we document the sequence from trial introduction through plan selection and the App Store confirmation sheet. Cal AI is shown offering a three-day free trial followed by a subscription. The captured prices are historical screen content, not a current offer.

## Captured screens

The trial-introduction screen presents Cal AI as free to try and reassures the user that no payment is due immediately.

![Frame 44: Annual and monthly plan choice](https://zlfyzdmohcskkucuunmk.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/screenshots/uploaded_cal_ai/onboarding/compare/2026-08-03/1785801817143_43_com.viraldevelopment.CalAI-20260803T040536Z-cap-plan-picker-1785733600.png)

The plan picker has the annual option selected. It shows **$29.99 billed yearly**, a displayed **$2.49/month** equivalent, and a **75% savings** claim. The monthly alternative is **$9.99**. The annual option includes a three-day-trial strip, selection check, and stronger border; the monthly option remains visible but is less prominent.

![Frame 45: App Store confirmation sheet](https://zlfyzdmohcskkucuunmk.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/screenshots/uploaded_cal_ai/onboarding/compare/2026-08-03/1785801818924_44_com.viraldevelopment.CalAI-20260803T040536Z-cap-payment-sheet-1785733634.png)

The App Store sheet confirms a **three-day free trial** and **$29.99/year** renewal. The capture reaches this confirmation sheet; it does not show a completed subscription.

## Three decisions before purchase confirmation

| Stage | Captured presentation | What to inspect |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Trial introduction | Product visual and reassurance that no payment is due now | Whether the user understands that a subscription follows the trial |
| Reminder | A promise before trial end, conditional on notifications | Whether the condition is clear and the promise can be fulfilled |
| Plan choice | Annual selected, monthly alternative, and three-day trial | Whether the billing cadence and total due are identifiable |
| System sheet | App Store confirmation with trial and annual renewal | Whether the product page and checkout terms agree |

## Annual framing and the displayed equivalent

The annual row combines several visual signals: a selection check, stronger border, three-day-trial strip, 75% savings claim, annual charge, and monthly equivalent. The capture does not establish which individual difference, if any, changes annual-plan selection. [Annual/monthly plan selection](https://www.lazyweb.com/company/cal-ai/app-tree#frame-44)

The displayed **$2.49/month** is a normalized comparison figure, not a monthly payment schedule. The actual annual amount is **$29.99**, and that total appears below the continuation button and again on the App Store sheet. ## Reminder dependency

Cal AI’s reminder promise depends on notifications being enabled. Earlier notification-permission screens are present in the archive, but the capture does not establish that a reminder was delivered. [Conditional reminder before trial end](https://www.lazyweb.com/company/cal-ai/app-tree#frame-43)

## How we frame testing

We separate three questions: whether reassurance improves trial comprehension, whether annual emphasis changes billing-cadence selection, and whether acquired subscribers retain. Presentation tests should keep the actual price and renewal terms consistent. A higher trial-start rate alone does not establish a better subscription experience.

**Methodology:** Visual review of the full 45-frame August 2026 Cal AI capture and its stored screen connections. Repeated selection and permission states are retained. Product claims, prices, and health outputs are historical screen content; no conversion, revenue, retention, or health effect is inferred.
