## Glympse app and features

Glympse temporarily shares a person’s live location with friends, family, coworkers, or clients without requiring the sender or recipients to sign up. A sender sends a Glympse link, and recipients can view the sender’s real-time location on a map from any device without installing the app. The sender controls who can see the location and for how long; sharing expires automatically.

Glympse supports popular mobile devices and is free to use, with optional Premium features for events and businesses. Typical uses include:

- Letting friends know when someone is on the way
- Coordinating family meetups and school pickups
- Temporarily tracking kids, carpools, or teams
- Giving customers live ETAs
- Replacing vague status texts with real-time location information
- Powering event tracking with branded maps

### Premium Shares

Premium Shares are designed for businesses that want branded location sharing and improved customer operations. Businesses can add their **logo, colors, links, and messaging** to every location share. Listed use cases include:

- Home services and HVAC
- Limo and rideshare fleets
- Couriers and mobile service teams
- Appointment-based businesses

### Premium Tags

Premium Tags create a branded, trackable map for a public event or mobile operation. Businesses can customize the map with their logo, route stops, and a memorable tag name, such as `!SantaParade2025`. Listed use cases include:

- Parades and community events
- Marathons and races
- Traveling shows or rallies

### Private Groups

Private Groups are invite-only groups for sharing real-time locations among trusted members. They are described as useful for families, travel groups, and sports teams.

### Favorites

Favorites let users save frequent contacts—such as family, close friends, or coworkers—for faster location sharing with one tap, without scrolling or searching each time.

### Privacy and regional mapping note

Glympse describes its sharing as short-term by design. Viewer links do not require logins, and Glympse says user data is never sold. The service says it pioneered temporary location sharing in 2008.

For non-app viewers, map display may be imprecise in **Japan, China, and South Korea** because of regional mapping limitations. In-app users are not affected.
