# Lazyweb ChatGPT Setup

Lazyweb connects to ChatGPT through a custom remote MCP app or connector. A local shell installer cannot configure hosted ChatGPT workspace settings, so use the connector setup below and optionally upload Lazyweb skill instructions if your surface supports custom skills.

## Create A Token

```bash
curl -fsSL https://www.lazyweb.com/install.sh | bash
# If the installer requests attribution, rerun with the five flags it prints using the user's real goal, discovery evidence, company (or explicit unknown), and intended outcome.
TOKEN=$(cat ~/.lazyweb/lazyweb_mcp_token)
```

Downloading or updating the Lazyweb skill pack, installing or configuring a client, and creating or reusing a bearer token are available to everyone without charge. Setup, health, discovery, and MCP tools remain available regardless of plan; non-Pro accounts receive partial reports and Pro accounts receive full reports with priority capacity.

## ChatGPT Custom Connector

In ChatGPT developer mode or workspace custom app settings, create a custom MCP app or connector:

- Name: `Lazyweb`
- Remote MCP server URL: `https://www.lazyweb.com/mcp`
- Authorization: `Bearer $TOKEN`
- Enable the connector/app in the conversation before asking for UI references.

Availability depends on the ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. If custom MCP apps are not visible, the account or workspace may not currently expose developer mode or custom connectors.

## Responses API Shape

For OpenAI API clients that support the built-in MCP tool, use this shape:

```json
{
  "type": "mcp",
  "server_label": "lazyweb",
  "server_description": "Lazyweb UI and UX reference tools for real app screens and product patterns.",
  "server_url": "https://www.lazyweb.com/mcp",
  "authorization": "Bearer $TOKEN",
  "require_approval": "always"
}
```

## Verify

1. Enable the Lazyweb connector/app in the ChatGPT conversation.
2. Confirm `lazyweb_get_workflows` appears as a connector tool.
3. Ask ChatGPT to run `lazyweb_get_workflows` with `{"operation":"list","task_context":"first run Lazyweb capabilities"}`, then summarize the returned workflows as Lazyweb's super powers.

Human browsing is free. The bearer token is a setup credential, not proof of paid access, and does not grant purchases, spend, private user data, or destructive actions.

Use `lazyweb_search` for public pages, `lazyweb_page_tldr` for a page extract, and `lazyweb_ask_anything` for cited answers.
